What to do after a mock test: beyond your score

Turn mistakes into a clear plan for your next week of preparation.

Separate accuracy from speed

Record attempted questions, correct answers and time taken by section. A low score may reflect knowledge gaps or rushed decisions; the remedy is different for each. Avoid comparing yourself to others without understanding the test difficulty.

Classify every error

Group mistakes into concept gaps, careless reading, calculation errors and guesses. Relearn concepts from your core material, practise calculation separately and use a second reading for question qualifiers such as “not” or “only”.

Close the feedback loop

Select three weak topics, revise them and take a short targeted quiz. Reattempt incorrect questions a week later without looking at the solutions. Improvement comes from changing the process, not just taking more tests.
